Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Kutti Lab is a Tamil-language YouTube channel for young children, operated by an individual creator, Saravanakumar K, based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Kutti Lab Publisher is the software that creator uses to produce videos and upload them to the Kutti Lab channel. Contact for anything in this policy: saravana1907@gmail.com.
2. This website
This website is informational. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising services, embeds no third-party scripts, and has no accounts or forms. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested page, time, browser type) for security and to keep the site running; these are retained for no more than 30 days.
3. Who uses the Publisher app
Kutti Lab Publisher is an internal production tool. Its only users are the owner of the Kutti Lab YouTube channel and any collaborators that owner explicitly authorises. It is not offered to the public and it is not directed at children. Children never sign in to it and it collects no data from children.
The videos the app produces are published on YouTube and declared there as made for kids. Viewing happens on YouTube under Google's Privacy Policy; the app does not receive any personal data about individual viewers.
4. Google user data the app accesses
The app uses YouTube API Services. When the channel owner signs in with Google and grants access through Google's OAuth consent screen, the app receives an access token and a refresh token for the specific YouTube channel they chose. With that authorisation it accesses only the following, and only for the purposes stated:
| Data | Purpose | Permission |
|---|---|---|
| Channel identity: channel ID, title, and channel-level settings such as the audience (made for kids) setting and verification status. | Confirming the app is connected to the intended channel before uploading anything, and confirming the channel is configured correctly. | youtube |
| Video uploads: the video file, title, description, tags, language, thumbnail, privacy status and declarations (made for kids, altered or synthetic content). | Publishing videos the owner produced to the owner's channel, and reading back what YouTube stored to verify it. | youtube.upload, youtube |
| Channel analytics: aggregate views, watch time, audience retention and subscriber counts for the owner's own channel. | Understanding which stories children stay with, to plan future videos. | yt-analytics.readonly |
The app does not read or post comments, does not send messages, does not access subscriptions, playlists or watch history, does not access any channel other than the one connected, and does not access any data about individual viewers. Analytics are aggregate figures as YouTube provides them.
5. How the data is used
Google user data is used solely to provide the functions described above for the channel owner: publishing their videos to their channel, verifying that publication, and reporting their channel's performance back to them. It is not used to build profiles, for advertising, to train machine-learning models, or for any purpose unrelated to operating the Kutti Lab channel.
Limited Use. Kutti Lab Publisher's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. Storage, security and retention
- Tokens. OAuth access and refresh tokens are kept in encrypted storage on infrastructure controlled by the operator. They are never written to logs, never placed in URLs, and never shared with anyone. An access token is short-lived; the refresh token is deleted when the owner disconnects the app or revokes access.
- Video metadata and send records. The app keeps a record of what it sent to YouTube for each upload (title, description, declarations, the returned video ID) so the owner can audit what was published. These records belong to the owner and are kept for as long as the channel is operated.
- Analytics. Channel analytics obtained through the YouTube API are refreshed or deleted within 30 days, in line with the YouTube API Services Developer Policies.
- Videos. The videos themselves are the owner's own work and are stored by the owner; YouTube holds the published copies under its own terms.
- Infrastructure. Hosting, database and storage services are provided by cloud providers (including Google Cloud) that process data on our behalf under their own security commitments. They do not use it for their own purposes.
7. Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share Google user data with third parties, except for the service providers named above that store or process it on our behalf, or where required by law. Data is shared with Google itself only as part of making the API requests the owner authorised.
8. Revoking access and deleting data
The channel owner can revoke the app's access at any time from their Google Account security settings at security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Revocation makes the stored refresh token useless, and we delete it, along with any cached analytics, within 7 days. To request deletion of any other data the app holds, or to ask what it holds, email saravana1907@gmail.com; we respond within 30 days.
9. YouTube API Services
Kutti Lab Publisher uses YouTube API Services. By using it, the channel owner also agrees to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
10. AI-generated content
Kutti Lab videos are produced with generative AI tools for illustration, narration and short animated clips, under human direction and review. The production tool records where each element came from, and videos are labelled on YouTube in accordance with YouTube's disclosure requirements for altered or synthetic content where those requirements apply. No personal data about viewers is used in generating content.
11. Children
This website and the Publisher app are not directed at children and do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. The channel's content is made for children and is published on YouTube with that declaration, which means YouTube applies its own protections for such content, including disabling comments and limiting data collection. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes to how Google user data is used will be reflected in the app's OAuth consent screen and, where required, re-consented.
